Kobolt Pullover by Sarah Solomon

kobolt pullover chunky

Kobolt by Sarah Solomon was designed for a Woolfolk Merino/cotton yarn, but I’ve knitted it up in my Blue faced Chunky yarn in Olive. I really like Sarah Solomon’s designs and I’ve a couple waiting in my project queue.  I’m a 34″ chest and I knitted the 2nd size.  I had to go down a needle size to obtain the correct gauge and the jumper has ended up slightly smaller than the pattern.  I’ve short arms and hate over-long sleeves, so I knitted them a bit shorter than described in the pattern.  The design is knitted flat in pieces, in a traditional bottom-up manner with a slip-stitch selvedge to make sewing up neater.  I particularly like the wide turtleneck and the raglan shaping.  As it’s a chunky yarn, the jumper knitted up really quickly.

The jumper took 7 100g skeins of my Chunky yarn.

Etherow by Sarah Hatton

Etherow jumper in Westmorland Worsted

Etherow by Sarah Hatton was designed for DK yarn, but we’ve adjusted the needle size and knitted it in our Westmorland Worsted yarn.    The design is knitted seamlessly with grafts where the sleeves meet the raglan-shaped shoulders.  This bottom-up pullover is accented with a stranded yoke, corrugated ribbing, and edging in a contrasting colorway.  To buy the pattern from the designer on Ravelry, click here.

The jumper took 7 skeins of Teal.  The white colourwork was knitted in other yarn in our stash.  This was the L size and obviously worked up larger than if we had used DK yarn.
