  • ‘MORECAMBE’ is a British Blue Faced Leicester & Alpaca DK wool.  The Blue Faced Leicester wool comes from farms in the Yorkshire Dales and has been carefully graded on our farm.  This wool has been blended with British grown alpaca and spun in Yorkshire to produce a soft, springy double knitting yarn.

    This knitting wool is a blend of 70% Yorkshire Blue Faced Leicester wool worsted spun with 30% UK alpaca.

    This yarn knits to standard double knitting patterns for wool, (but always knit a tension swatch).  There are approximately 125m per 50g.  The yarn is sold in  50g balls.

  • ‘Cumbria’ is an alpaca and wool sock yarn.  It is our own blend of 47% British alpaca, 43% Blue Faced Leicester wool and 10% nylon.

    Cumbria Alpaca Sock yarn is available in its natural oatmeal and eight over-dyed shades which give depth to the yarn.  Midnight is a very dark blue.

    This yarn knits to Sock, Fingering weight or light 4 ply knitting patterns, (but always knit a tension swatch).  There are approximately 400m per 100g.  The yarn is sold in 100g hanks.  If you would like us to ball your yarn for you, please make a note on the order.

    Wash gently by hand or in the wool cycle of your machine with a small amount of non-bio detergent.  Do not tumble dry.  The yarn has been washed, but some surface residue dye may come out in the first wash, particularly with the deeper colours.

  • ‘Merino Chunky  ‘ is a pure Merino wool knitting yarn.  The yarn has been plied to produce an even, rounded knitting wool.  It was dyed for us in the Scottish Borders.  This yarn is suitable for garments and accessories.

    There are approximately 100m per 100g and the yarn is sold in 100g hanks.

    This yarn is not superwashed and should be hand-washed or washed in the wool cycle of your machine with a small amount of non-bio detergent.  Do not tumble dry.

  • ‘Vallis’ is a fingering weight knitting wool which is a blend of 50% superfine, organic Falklands Merino wool, 30% Peruvian baby alpaca and 20% Grade A1 Mulberry silk.

    This yarn is super-soft and is ideal for knitting shawls, scarves.  It is light-weight yet cozy and is great for knitting tops that you will wear next to your skin.   It is a similar weight to our Whitbarrow yarn so the two could be used together in a project.

    This yarn knits to Fingering, Sock weight or light 4 ply knitting patterns, (but always knit a tension swatch).  There are approximately 400m per 100g.  The yarn is sold in 100g hanks.  If you would like us to ball your yarn for you, please make a note on the order.

  • ‘Westmorland Worsted’ is an alpaca and wool yarn.  It is our own blend of 50% British alpaca with 50% soft, fine Blue Faced Leicester wool.

    Westmorland Worsted is available in its natural oatmeal grey and twelve over-dyed shades which give depth to the colours.

    This yarn knits to worsted or light aran weight knitting patterns, (but always knit a tension swatch).  There are approximately 200m per 100g.  The yarn is sold in 100g hanks.  If you would like us to ball your yarn for you, please make a note on the order.

  • ‘Whitbarrow’ is an Alpaca Fingering weight yarn.  We have combined alpaca with Merino wool and silk to produce a Fingering knitting yarn in an exclusive blend which has been spun for us in the UK.  This luxurious Fingering weight knitting wool is a blend of 45% Peruvian baby alpaca, 35% superfine, organic Falklands Merino wool and 20% Mulberry silk.

    Whitbarrow Alpaca fingering yarn has been dyed in the Scottish Borders in a wide range of solid colours.  Swallow is a navy colour.
