  • This is our finest, softest alpaca yarn for hand knitting, crochet or weaving. The yarn is warm yet light and durable.  These fleeces are purchased from UK alpaca breeders and carefully sorted and blended at Town End before being sent for spinning in Britain. This natural mid fawn yarn has been semi-worsted spun, which gives it a silky drape.

    Our alpaca yarn can be knitted using 4ply standard patterns, but we recommend that you make a tension square first.

    As we only produce small quantities and batches vary, please ensure that you order sufficient to finish your project.

We bought the Shetland fleeces from a local  farmer.  The fine, crimpy Shetland blended with UK alpaca has been woollen spun to trap air for a warm, bouncy yarn.  The natural greys and whites of the fleeces have produced a soft natural grey yarn.  .

  • This is a fine worsted spun alpaca yarn.  We have added 10% nylon for additional stretch to make it suitable for knitting socks.  This yarn is also wonderful for knitting lacy shawls and scarves.  The natural mushroom colour has been achieved by blending white,  fawn and brown fleeces.     It is available as 50g balls or washed, 100g hanks.

  • Thistle is a simple and classy scarf which can be easily adjusted to make a wider stole or a throw blanket, and may be knitted in any weight of yarn.
    Sizing: In 4-ply yarn at suggested gauge, the scarf will measure about 12” wide by 80” long, depending on how aggressively you block the lace.  To adjust width, add or subtract a multiple of 10 sts.

    Needles: US # 5 / 3.75 mm (or as req’d to meet gauge);

  • This shawl is knitted from the centre top down to the scalloped edging, formed by two increasing triangles. The triangles are bounded by 3-st garter borders, and separated by a 1-st spine.Sizing: The sample is knit in DK weight yarn, and measures 66 by 30 inches. Rosebud is also exquisite in sock or lace weight yarns, and you may work more or less pattern repeats to adjust the finished size.
