  • This is a naturally coloured dark grey Alpaca with Shetland 4ply knitting wool. I dyed the wool nepps in a variety of bright colours and mixed them with undyed nepps.  These were carded into the fibre before it was spun to produce a subtle tweed effect.

    The yarn is a blend of 84% British alpaca and 16% local Shetland fleece with wool nepps.

    The yarn has been woollen spun for a lofty handle.  There are approximately 304m per 100g and it is sold in 100g hanks.

  • ‘MORECAMBE’ is a British Blue Faced Leicester & Alpaca DK wool.  The Blue Faced Leicester wool comes from farms in the Yorkshire Dales and has been carefully graded on our farm.  This wool has been blended with British grown alpaca and spun in Yorkshire to produce a soft, springy double knitting yarn.

    This knitting wool is a blend of 70% Yorkshire Blue Faced Leicester wool worsted spun with 30% UK alpaca.

    This yarn knits to standard double knitting patterns for wool, (but always knit a tension swatch).  There are approximately 125m per 50g.  The yarn is sold in  50g balls.

  • An Aran weight blend of 80% alpaca with 20% Shetland sheep wool. We bought the Shetland fleeces from a local  farmer.  The fine, crimpy Shetland blended with UK alpaca has been woollen spun to trap air for a warm, bouncy yarn.  The natural greys and whites of the fleeces have produced a soft natural grey yarn. .

    The yarn has been spun for us in the UK.

    Approximately 78 metres per 50g.
