  • Bumble is a simple textured beanie sized from new-born through to large adult. It is knitted in the round in double knit yarn.

  • This is a straight forward pattern for a baby blanket or pram cover knitted in Town End Pure Natural 4ply yarn.

  • Tiggywinkle’s sleeves are knitted flat, the body knitted flat and all in one piece to the armholes and then the sleeves are joined in and the raglans worked. By the time you’ve finished you’ve only got to swap needles for the moss stitch border and then pick up stitches for the front bands and do a tiny bit of seaming on the sleeves. If you’re knitting in advance of Baby’s arrival and don’t know the gender then work buttonholes on both bands, then when you do know the gender and come to sew on buttons it’s easy to close one set of buttonholes up when you sew the buttons on.

  • Squirrel Nutkin was quite a naughty boy, and so this Nutkin is for boys who are hopefully better behaved… Carrying on with the vintage-y feel, there are mock cables (of a sort) and a 50s-esq feel to this little cardi with its striped yoke. We love the look of all these colours together (and the leftovers would make a Jeremy Cap) but you could knit Nutkin in one or two colours only and it would still look good.
Knitted flat, you’ve got minimal seaming on the sleeves and then just a few ends to darn in. There are no real cables at all, just clever stitches that give a lovely textured feel to this little cardi.
The sizes are generous but not over-sized, giving room for growth without a ridiculous amount of ease. If you want something closer / larger fitting then just pick your chest size and alter the length to suit.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows in mock cable pattern on 4mm needles.
    Sized to fit: 3(6, 12, 18, 24) months.
    Finished sizes: 49.5(53, 57, 59, 61)cm, 19¾(20¾, 21½, 23½, 24½)”.
Yarn: Town End Alpacas 100% Alpaca DK.
    2(3, 3, 3, 3) x 50g balls MC.
    1(1, 1, 1, 1) x 50g ball CC1.
    1(1, 1, 1, 1) x 50g ball CC2.
    1(1, 1, 1, 1) x 50g ball CC3.
    Shown in MC – Ivory, CC1 – Dark Fawn, CC2 – Mid Fawn, CC3 – Pewter.
    7 buttons, approximately 1cm / ⅓” in diameter.
3.25mm, 3.75mm and 4mm needles OR the size required to give you the correct tension.
Your preferred needle / latch hook for darning ends in.

  • Jemima is an unashamedly vintage / old fashioned baby bonnet. Sometimes Jemima looks positively Elizabethan given the chance with a bit of vintage linen and lace. Ideal as a christening bonnet / fancy outfit bonnet or just for everyday if you’re that way inclined.
The front band for Jemima is worked first, then stitches picked up along one edge and the crown knitted flat onto the band. The ties and i-cord edging are then worked onto the bottom edge of the bonnet.
Sized to fit: 0-3(3-6, 6-12) months.
Yarn: Town End Alpacas 100% Alpaca DK . 1 x 50g ball. Shown in Mid Fawn.

  • A sweater with eyelets and ribbon. Beatrix is quite a girly sweater as photographed but there’s no reason you couldn’t make a quite manly Beatrix for a baby boy if you used a neutral colour and perhaps some grosgrain ribbon in blues and greys.
Beatrix is knitted both flat and in the round and seamed whilst the body is knitted in the round, then the sleeves joined in and the yoke and neck finished off in the round. Easy enough to convert the sleeves to knitting either on dpns or circs if that’s your thing (just cast on 2 less sts than the pattern dictates). The eyelets spiral around the yoke and beg to have pretty (or more manly) ribbon threaded through. We’ve knitted it here in one of the Fawn shades with ribbons in dusky pink, soft bluey-grey and a golden fawn, but an Ivory sweater with gold and cream ribbon would be lovely as a christening sweater or a Pewter version would look great with more on-trend fluorescent ribbons, or as we’ve already said, with boyish blues and greys.
The sizes are generous but not over-sized, giving room for growth without a ridiculous amount of ease. If you want something closer-fitting then just pick your chest size and alter the length to suit.
Tension: 21 sts and 27 rows in stocking stitch on 4mm needles.
    Sized to fit: 3(6, 12, 18, 24) months.
    Finished sizes: 49.5(53, 57, 59, 61)cm, 19¾(20¾, 21½, 23½, 24½)”.

  • Based on our rather dashing Sca Fell Peak hat we give you Jeremy, a super-cute peaked cap for babies and toddlers. In these colours Jeremy is rather masculine, but you could make a lovely girly Jeremy in Ivory with a pink and cream pompom or with a pink bow instead.

Tension: 21 sts and 27 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch in the round on 4mm needles.
Tension for band: 18 sts and 36 rows to 10cm over garter st in the round on 4.5mm nds with yarn held double.
    Finished size: 33(37, 41.5)cm / 12½(14½, 16⅓)”.

4mm and 4.5mm dpns / circular needles, OR the size required to give you the correct tension. It might be easier to knit the Peak on straights or circs, but the rest of the hat is entirely up to your preference for knitting small diameters in the round.
Your preferred needle / latch hook for darning ends in.

  • A vintage-y baby blanket, reminiscent of the cellular woollen blankets of the 60s and 70s. Knitted in individual squares and then knitted together, there is no seaming to do and you only have ends to darn in. i-cord border is optional, but does give a nice ‘finished’ finish.

  • Lush is a cardigan with a lace yoke knitted in DK yarn. The cardigan is constructed as follows: First the lace yoke band is knit from centre back outward to left and right. Stitches are picked up along the top edge of the lace yoke band, and the collar is worked. Stitches are picked up along the bottom edge of the band, and worked down yoke to sleeves and hem. Button bands are worked last.  The pattern contains 8 child and 8 adult sizes:
