  • The Amelie jumper knitting pattern is designed by Gudrun Johnston and knitted in fingering weight yarn.  The garment is worked from the bottom up in one piece, uniting the sleeves and body at the underarm and working the yoke using a Simultaneous Set In Sleeves construction. The neckline is then finished with an I-Cord Bind off with ties.

    Sizes: 30.5 (33, 35.5, 37.25, 39.75, 42.25, 44,5, 47, 49.5, 52) inches round chest.  Recommended to be worn with 1-2 inches of negative ease.

  • This knitting pattern is for a lacy top using Town End Sock yarn.

The pattern is by Susan Crawford Vintage and uses Fenella 2ply wool but also knits to tension with the same needles using Whitbarrow Alpaca with Merino and Silk Fingering weight yarn.

  • This book was written by Alana Dakos of Never Not Knitting and Hannah Fettig of Knitbot.  Coastal Knits is a self published 92 page book featuring 10 designs inspired by their California and Maine Coasts.

  • The Prairie Fire pullover is knitted seamlessly from the collar to the hem and cuffs. It can be made with long or short sleeves.

    Sizes: 17 (18.5, 20.5, 22, 23.5, 25, 27, 28.5, 30, 33, 34.5, 36, 38, 40, 44, 48, 53, 59) inches round chest.  These are 8 child and 10 adult sizes. Recommended to be worn with 0-2 inches of negative ease for ladies sizes, and 0-2 inches of positive ease for children’s sizes.

  • A sweater with eyelets and ribbon. Beatrix is quite a girly sweater as photographed but there’s no reason you couldn’t make a quite manly Beatrix for a baby boy if you used a neutral colour and perhaps some grosgrain ribbon in blues and greys.
Beatrix is knitted both flat and in the round and seamed whilst the body is knitted in the round, then the sleeves joined in and the yoke and neck finished off in the round. Easy enough to convert the sleeves to knitting either on dpns or circs if that’s your thing (just cast on 2 less sts than the pattern dictates). The eyelets spiral around the yoke and beg to have pretty (or more manly) ribbon threaded through. We’ve knitted it here in one of the Fawn shades with ribbons in dusky pink, soft bluey-grey and a golden fawn, but an Ivory sweater with gold and cream ribbon would be lovely as a christening sweater or a Pewter version would look great with more on-trend fluorescent ribbons, or as we’ve already said, with boyish blues and greys.
The sizes are generous but not over-sized, giving room for growth without a ridiculous amount of ease. If you want something closer-fitting then just pick your chest size and alter the length to suit.
Tension: 21 sts and 27 rows in stocking stitch on 4mm needles.
    Sized to fit: 3(6, 12, 18, 24) months.
    Finished sizes: 49.5(53, 57, 59, 61)cm, 19¾(20¾, 21½, 23½, 24½)”.
    Yarn: Town End Alpacas 100% Alpaca DK . 2(3, 3, 3, 3) x 50g balls. Shown in Mid Fawn
5(5, 5, 6.5, 6.5)m in total* velvet ribbon, approximately 0.5cm width. Ours came from V V Rouleaux. * if you’re using different colours you need from 1.25m(49″) to around 1.6m(64″) per colour, depending on size knitted.
3.25mm and 4mm circular needles, approximately 40cm long OR the size required to give you the correct tension. Your preferred needle / latch hook for darning ends in.

  • Ransome is suitable for boys or girls, a classic British jumper (sweater, to those of you not from these isles!). Moss st edgings and a neat stripe and slip stitch pattern for small sailors (or landlubbers). The neck here is wider, partly for ease of putting on and partly to make it easier to fit a nice shirt underneath. As the yarn comes in 50g balls then you’ll have leftovers after working the stripe pattern, we’re working on a pattern for those…

    Sizing: To fit age 2(3, 4, 5, 6) years. Actual size 64(68, 73, 78, 82)cm / 25(26¾, 28¾, 30¾, 32¼)”.

Tension: 17.5 sts and 26 rows to 10cm over stocking stitch after washing / blocking.

    Yarn: Town End Alpacas Alpaca / Shetland Aran, 90% Pure Alpaca, 10% Shetland Wool, 74m(80yds) / 50g ball. Shown in Tea, Almond and Ivory: 3(3, 3, 4, 4) balls Tea 2(2, 2, 3, 3) balls Almond 2(2, 2, 3, 3) balls Ivory
