Orders over £100 are shipped free to the UK. Otherwise, we charge a fixed rate for delivery, which is the cost of sending a small parcel. We use Royal Mail services. If you require express delivery, please contact us before placing your order. Orders are generally posted the next working day. From 1 July 2021, orders to the EU are sent by us 'Delivery Duties Unpaid (DDU)'.  You may have to pay import VAT (and customs duties, if payable) and a handling fee in the receiving country. These charges will depend on the country we are delivering to, the value of the item and whether it is a gift or commercial goods.  f you wish to return unwanted items, please post them back to us, unused, and with their original packaging within 28 days.  Please include details of your original order or where you purchased the item.  We can only refund or exchange items purchased directly from us. We will refund the cost of your original purchase (excluding delivery charges) once we have received the goods.  You may want to send the items by tracked and/or Signed-for service as we can not be responsible for items lost in transit.  If you need to return an item due to a fault, please contact us.

How about?

  • ‘Cumbria’ is an alpaca and wool sock yarn.  It is our own blend of 47% British alpaca, 43% Blue Faced Leicester wool and 10% nylon.

Cumbria Alpaca Sock yarn is available in its natural oatmeal and eight over-dyed shades which give depth to the yarn.

This yarn knits to Sock, Fingering weight or light 4 ply knitting patterns, (but always knit a tension swatch).  There are approximately 400m per 100g.  The yarn is sold in 100g hanks.  If you would like us to ball your yarn for you, please make a note on the order.

Wash gently by hand or in the wool cycle of your machine with a small amount of non-bio detergent.  Do not tumble dry.  The yarn has been washed, but some surface residue dye may come out in the first wash, particularly with the deeper colours.
