Description

This lacy cowl is knitted as a tube in a simple trellis pattern using a 4.5mm circular needle. The cowl may be worn around the neck or on the head like a snood.

The pattern has two sizes: Small (54 cm circumference, 43 cm long) or Medium (57 cm circumference, 44.5 cm long).

You will need 100g Town End Pure Natural 4ply Alpaca yarn. You could also knit it up in Town End Whitbarrow Fingering yarn. You will also need a 4.5mm circular needle and a tapestry needle to sew in the ends.

Knitting level – Intermediate.

  • ‘Whitbarrow’ is an Alpaca Fingering weight yarn.  We have combined alpaca with Merino wool and silk to produce a Fingering knitting yarn in an exclusive blend which has been spun for us in the UK.  This luxurious Fingering weight knitting wool is a blend of 45% Peruvian baby alpaca, 35% superfine, organic Falklands Merino wool and 20% Mulberry silk.

    Whitbarrow Alpaca fingering yarn has been dyed in the Scottish Borders in a wide range of solid colours.

    This yarn is super-soft and is ideal for knitting shawls, scarves.  It is light-weight yet cozy and is great for knitting tops that you will wear next to your skin.

    This yarn knits to Fingering or Sock weight knitting patterns, (but always knit a tension swatch).  There are approximately 400m per 100g.  The yarn is sold in 100g hanks.  If you would like us to ball your yarn for you, please make a note on the order.
