Description
Squirrel Nutkin was quite a naughty boy, and so this Nutkin is for boys who are hopefully better behaved… Carrying on with the vintage-y feel, there are mock cables (of a sort) and a 50s-esq feel to this little cardi with its striped yoke. We love the look of all these colours together (and the leftovers would make a Jeremy Cap) but you could knit Nutkin in one or two colours only and it would still look good.
Knitted flat, you’ve got minimal seaming on the sleeves and then just a few ends to darn in. There are no real cables at all, just clever stitches that give a lovely textured feel to this little cardi.
The sizes are generous but not over-sized, giving room for growth without a ridiculous amount of ease. If you want something closer / larger fitting then just pick your chest size and alter the length to suit.
Tension: 22 sts and 30 rows in mock cable pattern on 4mm needles.
