These simple to make, fingerless mitts are knitted on single-pointed needles with a side seam. They have a cable pattern on the front and are finished with a single rib, optionally edged in a contrast yarn.

These simple to make, fingerless mitts are knitted on single-pointed needles with a side seam. They have a cable pattern on the front and are finished with a single rib, optionally edged in a contrast yarn.

You will need 110 m of Town End Pure Natural Double Knit Alpaca yarn and oddments of contrast (optional). You will also need a pair of 4mm needles, a cable needle and a tapestry needle for sewing up the side seam.

One size – average woman.

Tension – 20 stitches and 30 rows to 10 cm over Stocking stitch and 4 mm needles.

Knitting level – Straightforward.
