  • ‘Whitbarrow’ is an Alpaca Fingering weight yarn.  We have combined alpaca with Merino wool and silk to produce a Fingering knitting yarn in an exclusive blend which has been spun for us in the UK.  This luxurious Fingering weight knitting wool is a blend of 45% Peruvian baby alpaca, 35% superfine, organic Falklands Merino wool and 20% Mulberry silk.

Whitbarrow Alpaca fingering yarn has been dyed in the Scottish Borders in a wide range of solid colours.  Nightshade is a dark red.

This yarn is super-soft and is ideal for knitting shawls, scarves.  It is light-weight yet cozy and is great for knitting tops that you will wear next to your skin.

This yarn knits to Fingering, light 4 ply or Sock weight knitting patterns, (but always knit a tension swatch).  There are approximately 400m per 100g.  The yarn is sold in 100g hanks.  If you would like us to ball your yarn for you, please make a note on the order.
